A re-creation of the voyage of discovery of Captain James Cook's ship 'Endeavour' to Australia, which was awarded the Douglas Stewart Prize for non fiction as well as the NSW Book of the Year. The most painstaking and comprehensive study of Cook's 'Endeavour'.
Large 4to, text volume: xi, 467pp, maps, charts, sketches, diagrams. Red gilt cloth for the text volume; the map box contains 15 large folded ship drawings and plans in a hard cover folding case. Both volumes are housed in a matching red slipcase, with an illustrated paper title label laid down at the front and a descriptive label at the rear.
Publishers consortium review sheet tipped in with sticky tape at ffep of text volume, otherwise near fine condition.
