Niles and L. T. Pease, Hartford, H. Huntington, Jun. 1838, 370 pp. & 230 pp., 8vo. Fair condition. Both maps missing. Leather binding with gilt lettering and decoration on spine, scuffed, light bumping, chipping, foxing. Spine uncocked, binding tight. John Milton Niles was U.S. Senator from Connecticut 1835-1839 (and 1843-1849). The first printing of this book is from 1837, immediately after the Texian Revolution of 1835-1836. Lorrain Thompson Pease was the father of Elisha M. Pease, 5th and 13th governor of the state of Texas (admitted 1845). (Sabin 55319)
