Avec Charles Agar Bampfylde (1856-1918), agent politique de Charles Brooke auprs du gouvernement britannique. Sabine Baring-Gould (1834-1924) tait un ministre anglican aux intrts des plus clectiques et de ce fait, la bibliographie dconcertante (environ 1240 publications). Edition originale de cette monographie passionnante sur l'aventure remarquable de James Brooke (1803-1868) et son neveu Charles (1829-1917), qui rgnrent sur le sultanat de Sarawak, vassal de Brunei, depuis 1841. Leur famille conserva ce trne exotique jusqu'en 1946.
