Hardcover, 1959, first edition, illustrated, published by Longmans, Green and Co, London, 340 + xii pages. Possibly inscribed by author on front free endpaper - author's first name was Lewis and inscription reads: "With all good wishes for Christmas & New Year, Lewis, Laurie".
Measures around 8 7/8" by 6". Dust jacket is a bit torn and tattered, with some foxing and staining. Dark blue cloth binding, quite clean though with a little marking. Signs of shelf-wear. Binding reasonably firm. Page edges slightly marked though generally quite clean, upper edges foxed. Gift inscription to front free endpaper as mentioned above and previous owner signature to title page but otherwise page surfaces clean, with no marginalia, underlining, etc. See pictures for further information.
