Leather corners are quite worn, they remain intact, paper is scuffed, spine worn at the edges, on the raised bands and at head/tail, decoration remains bright. Frontis and endpapers not present, front and rear hinges breaking but binding remains tight, title page is half torn out at binding with worn edges. 13 steel engravings present, 7 missing. 85 wood engravings and other illustrations. 1872 James S.
