1966 two volume hardcover set as pictured. This is a 1966 reprint of the 1874 second edition which was edited by the author's son. This is a nicely done reproduction in good condition. It appears to be number 969 of a limited edition. Includes histories of Kentucky and its individual counties to 1847 along with nearly five hundred biographical sketches, 84 portraits, a full color map of Kentucky and 70 other engravings. Other interesting inclusions are a list of Kentuckians who served in the American Revolution and facsimile signatures of famous Kentuckians. Bindings are firm. Blue buckram boards with gold stamping are lightly soiled but show minimal shelf wear. Head and tail bands. Number stamp on front endpaper. Upper right corner of foldout map and the page to which it is attached are wavy. Texts appear otherwise clean and unmarked. No dust jackets. Price includes extra mailing charges due to weight.
