First edition. 8vo; xxvi, 509pp; blind-stamped border to brown cloth over board, gilt stamped spine; frontispiece is fold-out map; 5 engraved plates; owner's name to front pastedown; scuffing to cover with loss at corners, small splits to cloth at gutters but holding, darkening top edge, 2" split to bottom of one map fold, small hole and creasing to front fly-leaf, a few small spots on pages; very good minus. Important history of native peoples in Connecticut from early European settlement times.
