Contemporary speckled leather with gilt border to both boards, over beautiful stone marbled endpapers of rose, aquamarine, grey and white and cream. Two front boards detached. Hinges weak, leather flaking. Title page absent Volume 2. Lacks all plates and map.Bookplate of the Lancaster Observatory of Arts and Sciences and the YMCA. In sum, old set of books, boards detached, no map or plates, but an exhaustive history of India. Vols. 1-2 contain the history of Mu ammad K sim ibn Hind Shah. Vol.3 is an original work by Alexander Dow.
