Volume 1 starts with Ancient Egypt, includes Ancient Greece & Rome and goes up to the Renaissance Period. Volume 2 continues with the Renaissance, includes Louis XIV and the Masterpiece of Versailles, China and Japan, then the English Landscape Garden with Capability Brown, Kent etc, next the 19th C. and finally America and Canada. Very well Illustrated throughout with B&E Drawings and Photos. Dark Blue cloth covers with lovely Gilt Peacock and Fountain Designs to fronts and spines. Top page edges Dark Green. Vol 1, 459 Pages and Vol 2, 486. 11" Tall. No inscriptions, except old penciled price on endpapers. A few small spots of browning on fore page edges. Jacket have some tears and a few pieces missing (see photos), also age darkened. Set weighs 4.5 Kilos so Shipping outside UK will be extra.
