The first editions, Volume I being the second impression, Volume II being the first impression.In two volumes, two volumes on 1733-1851 and 1852-1914 were later published.'A History of Everyday Things in England' compiles an interesting history for children, looking at the everyday life in England from 1066-1799 in these volumes. The books focus strongly on housing, agriculture, and how people earned their money.Part I illustrated with a colour frontispiece, four colour plates, and monochrome illustrations throughout.Part II illustrated with a colour frontispiece, three colour plates, three folding tables, and monochrome illustrations throughout.By husband and wife Marjorie and Charles Quennell. In the original publisher's limp cloth binding. Externally, smart. A few light marks to the boards and spines. Hinges of Part II are starting a little but remain firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with just a few odd spots. Prior owner's ink inscription to the half-title of Volume I. Near Fine
