London, Longmans, Brown, Green & Longmans, 1853 9th. Five Volumes. Hardback, 9 x 5.5 inches. Halfbound leather fine bindings with marbled paper to boards. Raised banding and full gilt decorations to spines with red and green leather spine labels lettered in gilt. Marbled endpapers and page edges. In very good conditions. Some rubbing to edges, small nicks to corners on vols 1 & 3. Some rubbing to spine and ends with small nick to top end of vol.4. Endpapers clean. Some mild foxing to prelims in vol.5. Deleted and faint inscriptions to title pages in vols 1 & 2, with small rubbed hole in vol.1. “John Watson, 1855.” Some occasional foxing spots and handling marks to pages. Some minor staining to page edges in volume 2 (around p700.) Else a very good clean and tight set. 5 volumes: Contents + 684, 680, 764, 836 & 398pp. (No illustrations in this set.)
