London:: Edward Moxon,, 1852. G/no DJ. Handsome octavo size (8vo) 2-volume set is in original embossed dark brown leather bindings. The endpapers are yellow, with the original owner's name, James Brand, on a bookplate on the front endpaper. Volume 2 is complete with fold-out MAP and index. Volume 1 has a 2 inch and a 3/4 inch tear at top of spine and is starting. Volume 2 has a 3/4 inch tear at the bottom of the spine, a 1 inch tear on lower corner of fron board, and an erasure mark on the rear paste-down endpaper. Both volumes are foxed, show abrasion at the edges, are frayed and bumped at the corners and the pages are slightly warped. Third edition. Full title is: "THE HISTORY OF EGYPT: FROM THE EARLIEST TIMES TILL THE CONQUEST BY THE ARABS A.D. 640.
