About This Item

Spartanburg, SC: The Reprint Company Publishers, 1979. First Thus. . Hardcover. Very Good+/Very Good +. VG+/VG+/First Thus(New Index). What I want to know is this: WHO thought it would be a good idea to name a county in Georgia after a New York U.S. Representive, an abolitionist, and a guy buying up timberland in that area (making him a carpetbagger) FIVE years after the Civil War? I guess strange times do make strange bedfellows. Anyway, Mrs. Cobb researched and wrote a very nice county history starting with the pioneers, county officials(1871-1932) Early Marriages, Eastman History, Eastman and County Schools, Towns in Dodge County, Civil War Veterans, World War I Veterans, individual pioneer families and decendences, churches in the county infromation, and a new index, which is quite extensive. There are two small section highlighted with yellow, and a few underlined area. Otherwise close to perfect. Jacket covered in a mylar sleeve and comes to you in an acid free document bag for storage.
