London: T. Spilsbury and Son, 1793. 1st ed. Hardcover. Good. folding map as frontis (27 x 47 cm.), 6 plates, xxxi, [1], xxvi, [4], 230p. Recently quarterbound marbled paper on boards and backed by leather. Contents sound with significan foxing and browning throughout plus staining in lower right corner of text and plates. Dalzel is identified on the title-page as "formerly Governor at Whydah, and now at Cape-Coast-Castle." He profited from the slave trade while in West Africa and defends the practice in this book.
