New York: Harper & Brothers, 1848. Early Reprint. Hardcover. Very Good. 2 vol. 8vo. [5], vi-xl, [3], 4-527, [3]; [5], vi-xix, [4], 4-547, [3] pp. Brown blindstamped cloth with gold lettering on each spine. Volume one illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of Pizarro and a map of Peru; volume two illustrated with a portrait of de la Gasco and a facsimile of two of Pizarro's sigantures. Early reprints of Prescott's famous history of Peru, first published in 1847. A Very Good set with a small tear to the crown of the spine of volume one and rubbing to the boards' corners; leaves show moderate foxing.
