Printed; and sold by the Booksellers in Great Britain and Ireland. London. 1764. 12mo. Title, (bl.), (2), 232pp. Including index. Half calf, spine in five compartments with raised bands, gilt and blind tooling, leather label with gilt lettering. Marbled boards and endpapers. Loss to base of spine strip. Upper hinge cracked. Wear to corners and edges. Intermittent spotting and light toning. A crisp, firm text block.
"Apparently similar to SABIN 1636 but three years earlier in date, and without the attribution to "a Midshipman on board the Centurion". Often attributed to "John Philips" which may have been a pseudonym, since that name is not listed on the Centurion's muster roll; Sabin attributed authorship to Richard Walter.
