[ Washington DC ] : Bureau of Naval Personnel, [ 1949 - 1950 ] . First edition. Hardcover w/ silver and black pictorial boards. Very good. Thin quartos (oversized). Slight wear to edges and corners of boards. Corners of both volumes bumped. Rear hinge at back board of v. 1 exposed a bit at bottom. Covers of boards slightly scuffed. A detailed study of US Navy chaplains in war and peace over 175 years and multiple wars, with illustrations, many anecdotes, and information on how the chaplain system worked.
