Illustrated with nearly 200 black and white woodcuts, xviii + , index, 526pp, original dark green cloth covered boards, lettered in gilt, head of spine creased, joints tender, corners rubbed, original yellow endpapers with the ex-libris bookplate of C. J. Peackock and a neat handwritten name dated 1838 top of the front pastedown. A very good firm and clean copy. 22.5 x 13.5cm. Includes amongst others an extensive chapter on bats with illustrations .
