Fine illustrated and antiquarian Natural history . 3rd. Ed. Pub. Van Voorst. 1859. Two volume set with portrait frontis. of Yarrell and illustrated with wood-engravings throughout. 8vo. AEG. Hardbacks. Marbled endpapers. Bookplate of J. Lawson Whalley to front paste downs. Contents exceptionally clean and bright. Marbled endpapers. Original full calf binding in wonderful, nr. fine, condition with gilt tooling to edges and inner dentelles, richly gilt decorated spines with raised bands. A quite superb set. The third and final edition published after the death of William Yarrell. Illustrated by 522 wood-engravings. The work was edited by Sir John Richardson who also provided a memoir of Yarrell. According to Westwood & Satchell in Bibliotheca Piscatoria this set is "Indispensable."
