An interesting volume on the British history of carpets from the early seventeenth to the twentieth century, originally published in 1934 by C. E. C. Tatterell, the new revised and enlarged edition by Stanley Reed. Detailing a general history of carpets with a particular focus on British carpets and the different techniques used. Thoroughly illustrated with black and white as well as coloured plates.With unclipped dustwrapper. In the original publisher's blue cloth binding, with titles stamped in gilt to front board and spine. Externally very smart, with minor shelfwear. Spine has slightly faded. Signed by a previous owner to front free endpaper, dated January '66. Dustwrapper is unclipped and smart with minor faint scattered spotting throughout. Slight shelfwear and spine to wraps is slightly sunned. Internally, firmly bound. Minor faint spotting to fore and top edge, not affecting pages that remain bright and clean. With one hundred and seventy six plates. Very Good Indeed
