Volume I, From the Beginning to 1800, publisher's full green cloth, gilt lettering on spine and cover, green endpapers, (xviii), 198 pp. Volume II, The Land Transformed 1800-1891, publisher's full blue cloth, gilt lettering on spine and cover, blue endpapers, (xxii), 184, (1) pp. Volume III, Addressing the Twentieth Century, publisher's full dark blue cloth, gilt lettering on spine and cover, orange endpapers, (xxiv), 197, (1) pp. All of the volumes are profusely illusrated with full-color maps and illustrations. This production repesents the work of many highly accomplished cartographers and a wide range of scholars.. All of the volumes are in fine condition, except for the following: Volume 1 has a former owner's signature and date and a small price-sticker residue on the ffep, else fine; Volune 2 has a penned date and a small smudge on the half-title, else fine; Volume 3 has a former owner's signature and date on the ffep, else fine. VERY GOOD.. Color Maps and Illustrations. Folio 13" - 23" tall .
