About This Item

Archibald Constable and Company, Edinburgh ; Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, and Brown, London, 1817. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 512 pages plus folded maps (complete). A most comfortable copy. Volume One only. Rebound in quarter leather. Marbled end-papers. Cloth covered boards are healthy. They have some light wear and scuffing. The leathered spine is benign. There are six ridges. It is a little scuffed and rubbed, but is otherwise healthy. The contents are most pleasing. There are of course the consequences of age, but these are light and unobtrusive. There is some foxing and some handling marking. However, in general the pages are hale, hearty, clean, clear, thick, tight, companionable. fk.
