Noticeable split to front joint. Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Overall a good condition item. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning.

In very good dark grey cloth boards, with brown cloth spine; gilt titles to front and spine. The boards are flat, quite firm, clean; spine ends bumped. 'Dunlop' adverts to end papers. Lightly tanned cut edges. The text block is tight, straight and unmarked - very good condition. With '47 pen and ink drawings by the author and 61 other illustrations'. Indented print of name and address on half title page. Without jacket.

The cover carries the Dunlop logo with advertisements for Dunlop tyres and golf balls front and back. 172 pages with a comprehensive index and an interesting chapter on the derivation of Inn names with illustrations of some notable signs. At the back there is a further 100 pages of period advertisements being a business directory and shopping guide. Spine sunned and chipped. Internally very good throughout.
