About This Item
New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1928. Decorative Cloth. Very Good/Fair. Manning De V Lee. Hardcover/ DJ; VG+/ Fair. C.1928- looks like contemporaneous Grosset reprint. 343pp, photos, b/w illustrations and coloured plates which include Lindbergh's flight (Spirit of St. Louis) frontis. Book is VG+ to Near Fine condition w/ only minor shelf wear to edges. Red cloth binding w/ Art Deco illustrated front cover is tight, bright, clean & square- NO bumps, frays or sun. All lettering & decoration crisp & intact. Non clipped (100/100) DJ about Fair; shows moderate wear, mostly to extremities- edge tattering, sm. chips, closed tears, rubbing. Rubbing most severe where front panel meets DJ spine (fragile w/ some points of separation). All said, DJ is all there & together; still displays pretty well- esp. front panel w/ vibrant colors. Old illus. owner bookplate inside front cover- to me, actually adds to copy. Text only lightly toned & NOT brittle; tight, clean, unmarked. NO hinge splits or binding separation, NOT ex library. Handsome, very well preserved copy w/ a presentable DJ. ***Reliable, fast! (44)
