First US edition hardback in original Galdone designed dustjacket , states published June 1936 on verso title page and dated 1936 bottom title page , red boards with black titles to spine and front , neat name of Margaret T Kennedy on front endpaper , no other inscriptions , no spine lean , no tears to pages , corners are sharp , spine tips are pushed , top tip chipped and worn , usual page toning with age , no foxing , in original jacket that is not price-clipped showing $2.00 , no wear or tears , minor toning with age ,not a remainder , not an ex-library copy.
