Tide Water Oil Company, 1930. First Edition. Paper. Fair. 1st Edition; 32pp, sepia tone photos and illustrated throughout. Includes copy of Byrd Comes Home painting by Peter Hurd. Photographs by the courtesy of the New York Times and St. Louis Post Dispatch Look at Rear Admiral Richard Evelyn Byrd Antarctic Expedition from August, 1928 to June, 1930. Front and back cover slightly dirty and stained. Staples missing and pages separated from cover. Rust marks from staples to gutter. Large trade paperback (magazine format). A somewhat commercially skewed view of the 1927 Expedition, with an obvious bias toward its use of Veedol Motor Oil and Tydol Gasoline products. An attractively produced large-format, illustrated card-covered book celebrating the return of the Antarctic Expedition. Atmospheric (almost art deco) illustrations to the front and rear wrappers.
