About This Item

From front DJ flap: This is an account of the glory days of railroading and an informative history of the iron horse. This book includes steam, diesel, and electric locomotives, passenger and freight cars, and a vast array of cabooses from Bergen Hill in New Jersey to the depot in Cripple Creek, Colorado.

"Beebe can, at one moment, describe in great detail the inner working of such landmark's in railroad technology as the Santa Fe line's Diesel-Electric locomotive or the Pennsylvania's famous K-4s Class locomotives, and, in the next breath, deliver fascinating anecdotes about the people, places, and events that are a part of railroading's heritage."

Book - Near Fine condition. Black textured paper over boards with yellow cloth spine with black text. Very minimal edge/corner wear. Clean and tight. Lots of black & white photos.

Dust Jacket - Very Good. Minimal rubbing on front, a little more on back. Very minimal edge/corner wear; however, there is a closed, punched through type tear close to the barcode near the spine.

Please use photos as part of the description.

223 pages, plus a page of Whistle Codes at the back.
