About This Item

New York: Holt, Rinehart and Winston. Very Good in Good dust jacket. 1968. 1st Edition USA. Hardcover. Blue boards with black titling to the spine and front cover. In the original publisher's pictorial dustjacket, which is price-clipped. There is quite a lot of sunning to the dustjacket spine along with edge-wear and chipping. The dustjacket is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks good, but the spine titling is not easy to read. There is a gift note in black ink on the top of the d/j front flap. The paper is uniformly cream, otherwise there are No other Inscriptions or Marks. 285 pp. Illustrated with one b/w map. About the Author. Overall, apart from the 'faults', as detailed above, this is an Excellent, Very Clean, Tight and Bright, NEAR 'Very Good' copy. "A story of great scope and profundity, in the highest tradition of heroic fantasy, The High King fittingly concludes the Prydain epic." ; Chronicles of Prydain; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .

Synopsis

The High King is the last book in the Chronicles of Prydain fantasy series of books by Lloyd Alexander. It was awarded the Newbery Medal for excellence in American children's literature in 1969.
