This book surveys the developments of the printed herbal from 1470 to1670 also includes a chronological list of the principal herbals and related botanical works published between 1470 and 1670, An alphabetical list of historical and critical works consulted during the preparation of the book. Profusely illustrated, 326 pages. Attractive vintage bookplate on front free endpaper. Dust jacket had been re-inforced on the back side at the spine ends with tape and with age it stained the jacket and bled thru to the front side. Large tear to the rear flap of dj repaired with archival tape on verso, price clipped, presents well in a new mylar sleeve.
