NY: Viking, 1942. First Edition. 8vo, pp. ix, 350. Index. Frontis portrait. Maroon cloth. Owner's bookplate on pastedown, o/w a VG tight copy. Szold was elected secretary to the Federation of American Zionists in 1910; in 1920, when she was 60 years old, she went to Palestine with its medical unit, and in 1927 she was elected one of the three members of the Palestine Executive Committee of the World Zionist Organization, the first woman to serve in that capacity.
