Stratford-upon-Avon: printed by the Shakespeare Head Press for Basil Blackwell, Oxford; and Houghton Mifflin Company, Boston & New York,, 1928 [1929]. First edition, first impression, UK issue, in the orange binding and with no dust jacket as issued. This is the second title in H.D.'s Magna Graeca cycle. The US issue was released on 19 October 1928 in an edition of 520 copies; the UK issue followed shortly on 26 January 1929 in an edition of 775 copies. Octavo. Original black cloth-backed orange paper boards, spine lettered in gilt, pictorial title device stamped in black on front cover. Upper corners gently bumped, spot of wear to lower edge of front cover, edges and free endpapers faintly foxed: a near-fine copy. Boughn A10a.ii.
