The story of the estate and its owners over the past 700 years as well as of the village close by - now Old Heathfield - and the new town built after the railway arrived in 1880. Signed by author on title-page. Hb in dw, bar a neatly written name of previous owner on front free endpaper, this copy is virtually as new. .
