n.p.: [Privately Printed], n.d.. First edition. Paperback. Very Good. Perfect-bound oblong 12mo with blue-green velour-paper wraps, the title printed in (much faded) silver/black on the upper cover; pp. [8], 9-164. Undated, but external evidence (and the David Cupka bibliography) suggests it was self-published sometime in the mid-1930s. Simply and neatly signed by Rutledge on the title page. Wrap edges a bit sunned with a few small rubbed spots; internally clean and bright, but for the faint remnant of a former pencil price on the front flyleaf. This small book of poetry is one of the scarcest of all Rutledge items; Rutledge specialist Jim Casada goes so far as to call it "rare;" needless to say, it is even moreso signed.

Description:
1941. SCHWARTZ, Delmore. SHENANDOAH. Norfolk, CT: New Directions, (1941). "Poet of the Month" series. First edition. This verse drama deals with a family's quarrel over the naming of a son, Shenandoah Fish, which is obviously analogous Schwartz's name, about which he was quite sensitive. Inscribed to the poet Theodore Morrison. "Ted, from Delmore, October 1941." Illustrated by Frederico Castellon. Printed by George Hornby at The Domesday Press, New York City. 28 pp. 8vo., plain paper wrappers, wire saddle stitch. In a dark blue dust jacket, illustrated on the upper wrapper in grey-blue. Internally clean and fine; however, the dust jacket is sunned at perimeters and on the lower panel, with some light edgewear. Inscribed copies by Schwartz are uncommon, and this is a very good copy, inscribed by him.

1904. 1st Edition. Soft Cover. BOOK VERY GOOD. 12mo - over 6¾"" - 7¾"" tall. Signed by Author. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR ON THE TITLE PAGE. 164 pages. Rutledge's earliest book and perhaps the rarest. This seldom seen title is in very nice condition. Blue, suede like cover has some light wear but is in overall nice condition. No previous owner markings. This exceedly rare Rutledge title is undated but stated as being published in 1904 in a book by Joseph Flora. This would make this Rutledge's true first book as Under the Pines was not published until 1906. Rutledge is author of dozens of books about hunting and is perhaps most well known as South Carolina's most beloved poet laureate. His former home, Hampton Plantation, is a state operated park and is open to the public. Rutledge's notable descendents to name only a couple include two former South Carolina governors (his grandfathers) and a signer of the Declaration of Independence. During his…

Trumansburg, NY: Out of Step Press. Fine with no dust jacket. 2016. Numbered Edition; First Printing. Pamphlet. The author's non-linear poem about the billeting of soldiers in civilian homes in wartime. Copy 89 of a limited edition of 250. Folded into the form of a letter, the work was letterpress printed in wraps of handmade "combat paper" made from military uniforms. The author says: "Some time ago-maybe a year, maybe two? I had a conversation with some of my Combat Paper brothers (well, the kids call them their combat paper uncles, so it follows

It's a thought experiment: if we tore down the barracks at military hospitals and offered incentives for Americans in the surrounding neighborhoods to quarter injured service members, what would the honest instructions…
