Regensburg: Johann Leopold Montag, 1760. Hard Cover. Fair binding. Octavo. [24], 56, [14] pp. First edition. In early paper over scaleboard binding; spine is lacking. Boards are rubbed exposing the scaleboard underneath in a few places; despite the missing spine the binding is fairly stable. Internally a very good copy.
The first edition of Schaffer's pharmaceutical work is scarce in commerce and OCLC locates about a dozen copies in institutional holdings, all in Europe. A nice engraved title page vignette showing an apothecary's apparatus, engraved by Stephan Luibel of Regensburg.
