About This Item

New York, NY, U.S.A.: Harper & Brothers, Publishers, 1870. Book. Fair. Hardcover. 1st.. 3/4 leather binding with brown cloth covered boards, Original plain End Papers/Pages, the rear spine hinge is split top and bottom, very small tear bottom of front hinge. The text block binding appears to be solid. Some very minor foxing but browning throughout. Top/bottom of spine shows wear and the corners are worn, label on rear end paper "Ward Bros. Booksellers & Binders, Jacksonville, Ills". Seller's image, know what you are getting! Pre-packing weight is 2 lb. 8.1 oz . ORIGINAL, NOT A REPRINT, REBIND OR PHOTOCOPY!! NO Dust Jacket. CLEAN TEXT! See Picture! The Copyright date is 1870 for this 1870 Printing. This volume was purchased through Local public auction. Interesting 13 page article on Independence Hall and Independence Day. It is a shame that when the library people digitized the 1867 edition, that they did not include the plates (engravings). This leaves the reader with no appreciation for the structure or item being described. Text is important, but it is not the whole ballgame. Thank you for your purchase from Sunset Books!
