Hardback, undated but circa 1890 (bookplate dated 1891 to front board), first edition, illustrated, published by Blackie & Son, Limited, London, 96 pages + 8-page publisher catalogue at rear.
Octavo/8vo, measures around 6 5/8" by 4 1/2" by 3/8". No dust jacket. Green cloth binding, pictorial detail and gilt lettering to front board, black lettering to spine. Some marking, scuffing and discolouration. Signs of wear, rubbing at edges and on hinges, bumped corners. Book has slight forward tilt. Cracking to front inner hinge though otherwise binding reasonably firm. Page edges browned, a bit foxed and marked. Prizegiving bookplate to front pastedown. Some marking to endpapers and to pages throughout but no underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information.
