Audubon's "Viviparous Quadrupeds of North America". Slight scattered foxing. John James Audubon (1785-1851) was an American naturalist, painter and ornithologist known for his extensive field work studying birds and then painting them. By the late 1830's, he was planning a new book on the viviparous quadrupeds of North America. Published by his sons between 1849 and 1854, as J.J. Audubon was too weak.
