About This Item
New York: Random House, 1947. First US edition, first printing. Published by Random House in New York, 1947. This is a very near fine copy. The dust wrapper, simply but strikingly designed by Louis Glanzman, has some very light wear to the top and bottom edges and light surface wear. It has not been price clipped and the original $3.00 price remains present. The boards, bound in the original publisher's black buckram, are free from chips and marks. The text blocks are free from foxing and pristine throughout. This copy is free from previous owner's ink. Overall, this is a very near fine copy. Formed the basis of the 1956 film starring Humphrey Bogart.
