London: John F. Shaw & Co.. Very Good- with no dust jacket. [1913]. First Edition. Hardcover. Previous owner's inscriptions dated 1915 on front endpaper and title page. Cloth rubbed away from along edges of boards. Lower corner of front board worn with 15mm loss of cloth across corner. Gutter split at rear hinge. One colour plate (cat playing croquet) with smudge mark and 14mm tear to lower corner. Otherwise plates very good and clean.; Scarce. No date [1913]. Pages unnumbered. [196] pages + 8 tipped-in colour plates (including frontispiece). 5 of the colour plates have cats as subjects, 2 have dogs, and 1 has cats and dogs (2 cats laughing at 2 dogs in the stocks). Also with numerous black and white illustrations, some full page. Red cloth boards with colour paper illustration on front board. Page dimensions: 245 x 183mm (9 5/8" x 7 1/4"). .
