(London: The Folio Society, 2002). 4to; pictorial red cloth blocked in gilt and cream; red slipcase; tinted top edge; pp. xi + (i) + 289; colour plates; line drawings. Fine condition. There can seldom have been such a perfect marriage of the writer's and the illustrator's art as in this production. "Hans Christian Andersen wrote his fairy tales between 1835 and 1872. The fairy tales were first published in Danish from 1835 onwards, and in English from 1846. The text of this edition is taken from a selection of the fairy tales illustrated by William Heath Robinson and published by Constable & Co. Ltd in 1913." .
