Honolulu: Bishop Museum, 1903. First Edition. Original wrappers. Oblong 8vo. 105, (1) pp. Stiff red covers with black illustration & lettering. Illustrated with black & white protographic reproductions and drawings. Text block mostly pulled away from the wrappers; lower front corner tip missing; else a very good copy. The uncommon first printing of a guide to the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum which was founded in 1889. The museum it is the largest in Hawai'i and has the world's largest collection of Polynesian cultural artifacts and natural history specimens.

Honolulu : Bishop Museum, 1903. First edition. Small oblong quarto (170 x 270 mm), original pictorial stiff wrappers, pp 106, profusely illustrated with b/w photographic plates; a very good copy. The Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum was founded in 1889, and houses the world's largest collection of Polynesian cultural artefacts and natural history specimens, in addition to artefacts from Melanesian and Micronesian cultures and significant natural history specimens collected throughout Oceania. This scarce first edition of the Museum's handbook was compiled by its Director, William T. Brigham.
