New York: American Museum of Natural History, 1912 Dark brown lightweight card covers. First edition in wraps, by the Curator of Anthropology. With many black-and-white drawings and photographs, and two map drawings, one of them fold-out; 147 pages. In the Preface the author states that "[t]his book is not merely a guide to museum collections from the Plains Indians, but a summary of the facts and interpretations making up the anthropology of those Indians." Bibliography in rear. Moderate rubbing to extremities, with slight loss to paper at tail of spine and short closed tear at head of spine. Moderate diagonal creasing to lower corners of last three pages. Clean and intact.
