FIRST MINIATURE EDITION "New and enlarged edition" 1906, approximately 54 x 47 mm, 2¼ x 1¾ inches, very thin India paper, 50 leaves of plates, pages: xix, 836, plates bound between xvi and xvii, bound in original publisher's straight grain black morocco, rounded corners, gilt decoration and title to spine, all edges red and gilded, pale blue marbled endpapers. No inscriptions, very light vertical crease to lower half of upper cover, a touch of rubbing to extremities, tiny scrape to lower page edges, light crease to lower corner of page ix, a few tiny corner creases, 10 mm (½") chip to lower inner corner of 823/4 (index, no loss of print), 833/4 torn out (index), final page slightly creased.
