About This Item
Ramble, 1845. Framed size 16 x 18 inches. Engraved surface approx 10 x 12 inches. In black and gold wood frame with ivory mount behind glass. In very good condition. Horizontal centre crease. Some slight tanning to paper with some slight fading to colouring, Else a lovely bright, clean map. Hand coloured original lithograph. Originally appeared in “Millers New Miniature Atlas” ca1821, Darton & Clark later acquired the plates and subsequently published in “Reuben Ramble’s Travels through the Counties of England.” 1845-50. Designed to educate children, these maps are hard to find in good condition.
