It is believed that no extensive work of the family history has ever been published but for this one. The author traces the name through France and England with the Anglicized form of the name Hamlin most approved. The earliest Hamlin was Capt, Giles Hamlin, a mariner (sea captain) born in England in 1622 and arrived in America in 1655 residing in Hartford and them Middletown, CT. From there the book covers 9 generations of Hamlins. Illustrations and index. A clean very presentable copy.
