The wraparound dustjacket painting is Halifax Harbour by John O'Brien, circa 1850. Light wear at the corners of the dustjacket with a few small nicks around the edges; previous owner's name on the first blank page. No other city in Canada has held the strategic position of Halifax throughout its long history.
