New York: Holt, Rinehart and Winston, 1961 First printing of the stated first edition. Author's first book. Book in fine condition; dust jacket with a tiny closed tear to bottom back cover, mild wear to upper spine and corners, faint toning to spine, archival tape to verso, and a small smudge on front cover near the spine fold, else fine. A lovely copy of the Pulitzer prize winning author's first book of verse.
Kumin was the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry (1973), U.S. Poet Laureate (1981-82), the Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize (1999), and the Los Angeles Times Book Award (2011), along with many other honors and prizes.
