Hardcover, no dustjacket, first printing as stated on copyright page, 315 pages, illustrated with photos including one fold-out plate, includes Appendices, bibliography and Index, errata slip present on copyright page, the green cloth spine is sunned to a faint shade of green, the spine-ends have some edge-wear, the top corners of the cloth are bumped, the former owner's bookplate is present on the inside of the front cover, mild foxing is present on the title page and on the pages opposite the illustrations, the text and illustrations are fine .
