Oxford University Press, Toronto ON,, [1946]. 8vo., First Edition, with 24 fine coloured plates; handsomely bound in navy full crushed morocco, sides with gilt frame border, back with raised bands, second and fourth compartments lettered and ruled in gilt, all other compartments tooled in gilt with an anchor motif, gilt top, hand-made endpapers, a most attractive copy ideal as a gift or for presentation. Dramatised account of HMCS HAIDA, one of the most famous Canadian warships of WWII. This Tribal-class destroyer found fame from the Arctic convoys to Murmansk to the Channel battles of 1944 as part of 10th Destroyer Flotilla. Greatly enhanced by Macdonald's wonderful illustrations.
