Oxford University Press, 1924. Hardcover. Good. 1924. 549 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth with gilt lettering. Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Overall a good condition item. Corners are creased in places. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and tanning.
Synopsis
Guy Mannering or The Astrologer is a novel by Sir Walter Scott, published anonymously in 1815. According to an introduction that Scott wrote in 1829, he had originally intended to write a story of the supernatural, but changed his mind soon after starting. The book was a huge success, selling out the day after its first edition.
